Mount Holyoke College is committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information provided by students, alums, employees and prospective employees.  This information is protected by state and federal regulations as well as by College policies including, but not limited to:

•   MHC Institutional Policies

•   Public Records Law, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 66, Section 10

•   Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 66A (Fair Information Practices Act), Executive 

     Order 412

•   Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as amended

•   Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB) Act;

•   Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACTA);

•   Massachusetts Security Breach Law of 2007 and the regulations contained in the

     “Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth

      (MA201); and

•   “Identity Theft Red Flag Rules” of the Federal Trade Commission

During the employment search process, Mount Holyoke may use the personal information provided by applicants to communicate via email or phone. Communication topics may include, but are not limited to: status of employment applications and related tasks, employment opportunities, job alerts, invitations to virtual and/or in-person recruitment events, surveys, offers of employment, responses to applicant inquiries and other employment related communications and transactions.
